Steve Raney is a self-taught trainer and has worked with some of the best trainers in the country to perfect his training program. He is always studying new developments and will give each individual dog the training and needs they will require to be the best companion and hunting partner that they can be. We offer conditioning, boarding with exercise, obedience training, puppy head start programs, basic gun dog training, advanced gun dog training and transition into the Hunt Test training programs. Programs All fees include feeding, boarding, birds and training. There are no hidden training costs. All dogs must have the bordetello vaccination and immunizations must be up to date for the safety and health of each dog. It is recommended that all dogs be current on monthly heartworm and flea and tick preventative medication as we are located in a rural wooded area. Looking for guidance in training your gundog? Soggy Acres Retrievers is now accepting dogs into their training academy!! We take in no more than 10 dogs at a time, with the  first classes typically start March 1st each year  and subsequent classes starting soon thereafter.  A $250 deposit is required to hold a spot in the training program.  The program is a 3 month residential program.  Because we want to dedicate the most time possible to each dog in order to produce quality results, we take no more than 10 dogs per training course.  We highly recommend you deposit as soon as you can: spots fill up extremely quickly! Balance Dog Hudson & Dot 2016 Dot was the founder and original Executive Director of A.C.T.S. During her years as Executive Director she suffered from increasing symptoms of vertigo and seemed to worsen through the years.  She found herself in need of the very dog that she had been training to assist others.  Hudson was bred in the A.C.T.S. breeding program, founded by Dot.  He is a nice tall golden and helps Dot when she is out by wearing a harness to brace her when she loses her balance.  He also assists by picking up things she has dropped.
